By GCS Athletics

The Golden Isles Collegiate Relays will take place Saturday at the Brunswick High track and field complex.

The event will serve as a fundraiser for the BHS boys track team. Admission is free. Spectators are asked to bring laundry detergent that can be used by school athletic teams to wash practice and competition uniforms.

Food trucks will be on the premise and concessions will be available. Proceeds will benefit BHS track and field.

The meet is set for a 9 a.m. start. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, seating capacity will be limited. Spectators will be required to wear masks for admittance and social distancing will be enforced by meet officials.

Among the teams slated to compete are Albany State University, Florida A&M, Thomas University, Brewton-Parker College and Tallahassee Community College.

Fort Valley State University is the host school for the event, according to the meet information on ga.milesplit.com.

It will feature men’s and women’s teams.
